• ● The lecturer certainly knows his stuff but this is not ideal for beginners of Docker. In addition they are not clear in their explanations of what goes where. It is very hard to follow. Thankfully by taking notes from what is said (not that I am able to understand much) I am able to put it through AI to get a better understanding of how it all works. The course certainly has potential but the way it is handled is not beginner friendly at allNot enough images. Only text slides especially at the end. Would not buy it again.It's out of date.This seemed so complicated - images, Commands, ports, Starting Stopping, Abbrevations. Really struggled to understand most of itI appreciate the effort that went into creating this course, but it feels quite outdated. A lot of the material appears to be from 2017, and the technology has changed significantly since then. While there are notes pointing out that certain parts show the “old way,” they don’t explain what the current best practice is. That makes it hard to know whether I’m learning skills that are still relevant in 2026.The playback keeps crashingplayground is deprecatedI appreciate the effort put into creating this course, but unfortunately, it feels very outdated. Much of the material was recorded in 2017, and there have been significant changes in the technologies since then. While there are popups noting “old way,” they don’t explain what the new approach is, which makes it hard to know if I’m learning best practices for 2025.The Git and GitHub sections, for example, present Pull Requests as if they are a brand-new concept, which shows how dated the content is. Additionally, the code in the repository often doesn’t match what’s shown in the videos, so I ended up ignoring the provided code and just following along with the videos.In later sections, the videos include a lot of memes and bright colors, which I found distracting and made it harder to focus on the actual content. Overall, I think the course needs a major update to reflect current standards and improve the learning experience.Great course, but the content is outdated. Please redo the course, forget all the partial updates and record a better versionThe course is built almost entirely on presentations and lectures and quickly becomes boring.There is hardly any hands-on practice at all.Important topics are covered in just a few minutes of lecture.A very disappointing course, especially the Kubernetes section.Outdated lectures. Added contents are minute long reads of "this is no longer true since the videos are 8 years (and counting) old. Read this on the Docker site". Bret is responsive to comments, tho. He is very capable I'm sure, but the course....I believe the instructor is knowledgeable about Docker whereas K8s course content seems average.The biggest drawback of this course is that they seem to be struggling to keep up with the updates. Most of the lab videos do not work as demonstrated. While they have added supplemental sections to indicate the drift, the problem is that there are way too many of them now. Patchwork seems rampant, and that is crippling the content. Not the learning experience I expected!The course overall is a mixed bag for me. The course is very tedious to go through and is not very beginner friendly. My main gripes with it are how overwhelming it is and how outdated it is.While the concepts do make sense, there is a lot of information and technical minutia that causes information overload and has caused me to lose interest in the course several times. It's not helped by the fact that the course's presentation isn't very great either with mostly just PowerPoint slides and typed out commands without much hands on learning, with so many technical concepts that, while do deepen the understanding of what's going on in the backend, ultimately make the whole thing so much more confusing, bloated, and intimidating to understand.It also isn't useful how the course appears to be quite outdated. Several times throughout it there are short 1 minute prerequisite readings that state that something used in the lecture is outdated, such as what version of an image to use or the lecture outright uses some software that is outdated and just gives you an alternative without any real meaningful guidance on how to use that alternative. The breaking point for me was with trying to set up a Swarm using Multipass, which was such a headache to get to work since all the course says is "just use Multipass" without any sort of guide on how to get it set up. That is really not good for a beginner; I ended up having so many technical difficulties trying to get it to set up that I ended up just mindlessly watching the entire lecture section without any hands on coding whatsoever. It just feels like the bare minimum was done to try to make it appear that the course was up to date. This was around the halfway point of the course, and now I just fear that I may experience the same thing for the rest of it.Although I have to give credit in that clearly the instructor is very much an expert in the matter. I have no doubt about that in my mind; I just wished he kept the course a bit more friendly to complete beginners. At the beginning of the course, he did do a very good job with introducing the fundamental concepts, but I did begin to lose track of it as I kept going.This course is way too long, mostly because it looks like it's been accumulated over a decade of time, and instead of replacing or removing lessons that are not relevant anymore, the author decided to keep them and leave a note about it. This diluted the rate of useful information in the course.Also, talking a lot about something, doesn't mean you're explaining it. If you're using one term I don't understand, or a whole bunch of equally new terms, I still won't understand. Teaching requires skills like using analogies, visual aids, real world examples, etc... The courses eventually boil down mostly to looking at a terminal window and watching the author type commands and tell us what they do. That has already been achieved by docker's documentation material, so the author is not adding much.I found myself giving up after spending many hours just because I don't really know at this point if I am learning something useful and up to date, or just listening to, , possibly outdated, docker documentation documents being read outloud to me.he never, EVER told how to download or install most of the things, i had to spend more time seeing what is wrong and why am i not able to write the exact same command as him on the course than actually learning about the course/docker, as someone being told that he is pretty good in this line of work, the course is not if you do not know docker or if you are a beginner, try another courseThe course, so far is using play with docker which has been retiredPlay with Docker isn't any more availableOk teacher but this is very out of date, the entire section on Docker Hub is completely useless, he keeps gushing that this is free but the options he is using have been removed and replaced with paid and completely different modules. Typical lies and fake details on Udemy saying this course is updated... It is not, it uses outdated syntax and pushes Swarm that is not used. Down vote to the teach for lying about keeping this course up-to-date and down vote to udemy for allowing this fraud to be rampant in its platform.I would not say it's a bad course but sadly a lot of information is outdated, and there are exceptions on how to execute things everywhere which makes it more challenging to follow.ちょっと内容が古い。
